The first thing to check might be your car boot. It’s easily overlooked while you’re comparing carts, and rather harder to overlook in the car park. Think about where you’ll store it, how you’ll get it to the course and which bag you’ll be putting on it.

Then look at how each model opens, folds and works on the course. A good choice should fit the ordinary business of getting out to play. If you’re not sure whether a particular cart and bag will get along, ask the Pro Shop before ordering. Better to have that conversation here than beside an open boot with your tee time approaching.
