Why Buy From The Southern Pines Pro Shop?

Advice From a Head Professional

Get equipment recommendations from Doug Millar — Head Professional at Southern Pines for over 40 years.

 Real Golf Course Experience

We watch hundreds of golfers swing every season and know what equipment actually helps players improve.

Proper Setup & Fitting Guidance

Choosing the right equipment matters. Our team helps golfers get set up properly from the start.

Test Your Gear on a Real Golf Course

The best place to understand your equipment isn’t a store - it’s the golf course. We encourage golfers to try their new gear on the course where the game is actually played. The round is on us!

Support Your Local Golf Course

When you buy from the Southern Pines Pro Shop, you’re supporting a local golf facility and the golf community around it.

Help Before and After You Buy

Have questions about your equipment or your game? We’re always happy to help.

Test Your New Gear On The Course

Buy this product and test it at Southern Pines Golf Club or one of our partner courses across Canada. Because the best place to test golf equipment isn’t a store. It’s the golf course. The round is on us!

There’s been a shift over the last few years where more golfers are blending their on-course
gear with what they wear off the course. They don’t want to feel like they’re switching
identities just to go play a round.
That’s where something like the Retrocross fits in. It leans into a more classic, lifestyle look,
but still gives you enough traction and support to handle a round comfortably. It’s not trying
to compete with performance-first shoes , it’s built for golfers who want that crossover.
What I’ve seen is this appealing to players who play casually, walk shorter rounds, or just
want something that feels natural from the parking lot to the clubhouse and beyond. This is
for golfers who value versatility and style without over committing to a technical feel. If you
need maximum grip or stability for an aggressive swing, this isn’t built for that. But if you
want something that blends into your day without sacrificing basic performance, it does that
well

“Golf has been my life for more than five decades. When you spend that much time on practice tees and fairways, watching golfers of every level play the game, you begin to understand something important. Improvement doesn’t come from marketing claims or the newest equipment release. It comes from using the right tools for your swing and understanding what your golf ball is actually doing. At Southern Pines I’ve had the privilege of helping generations of golfers learn and enjoy the game. Over the years you start to see what equipment truly helps players improve - and what simply looks good in a catalogue. That experience guides every recommendation we make in our pro shop. Because after a lifetime in the game, you learn that the best equipment isn’t the one with the loudest marketing. It’s the one that helps golfers enjoy the game!”
